Self-emasculation is our specialty…
The EU is trying to avoid making waves with Iran
over the Argentina bombing. As has been so well-evidenced of late, the
EU is more concerned about trade than values or justice – an this
doesn’t seem to jive with the following:

The EU, with strong backing from London, had recently
started negotiations on a lucrative trade and co-operation agreement
(TCA) with Iran.
Progress on the trade issues is linked to progress on political issues,
such as human rights, fighting terrorism, Middle East peace and Iran’s
compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

unless you read on a bit in the article to see that talks have stalled
lately. Rather than stick to their guns, the EU is trying to make nice
with Iran rather than playing hardball to get what they say they want –
compliance on political issues. This is a tremendous opportunity for
the EU to demonstrate a commitment to punishing terrorists and standing
up to the bombastic bullying that Iran uses to avoid responsibility.
