New teacher pay scheme

by Anonymous on 7/20/2004 · 1 comment

Excerpt from the Press Servic of the President of Uzbekistan:

“In order to work out approaches to specific criteria of the personal contribution of teachers to the educational process and to create an effective mechanism of material stimulation of talented teachers, the Cabinet of Ministers issued the resolution “On conducting an experiment in additional stimulation of the work of teachers and the transition to a departmental network of pay for teachers.”

Is there anyone who knows what this experiment would involve?

Good question! Here’s some guesses;

More work, less pay.

or seriously it may be an attempt to tie teacher pay to student test scores.
