Weekly Roundup–Pickup line edition

by Nathan Hamm on 7/27/2004

Though I mention this story as a bullet-point below, it’s too delicious to pass up as a fun lead-in to this week’s news roundup.

Using the Cartman model for transforming pop into Christian rock (change Jesus to “baby” for those who don’t know how they do it), here are some Turkmenbashi pick-up lines derived from a BBC story.

  • “I am the Turkmen spirit, reborn to bring you a golden age, baby”
  • “I do not spare myself for you, for I am devoted to you all baby, I am your saviour.” (optional: throw another baby in at the end)
  • “I am desperate to fight my enemies, for you baby”

I can only assume we’ll find these and more in Rukhnama 2.
