Uzbek TV joins ABU

This article says that ” Uzbek TV and Radio Company was accepted to membership of TV and Radio Association of Asia-Pacific (ABU) at the organization’s annual meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Membership in ABU opens new horizons for development of TV and radio in Uzbekistan. Audiences of the Asia-Pacific countries will receive information about history, customs, traditions and culture of Uzbek nation. Consequently, Uzbek audience will be able to familiarize with the life of nations in Asian and Pacific regions. ”

Another article reports that the days of Japanese cinema will be held between October 8 and 13 in Tashkent.

Yes, you are right, there are Europeans as well.
I guess the title would be valid only from geographic point of view. .
Hmm.. by the way, for Uzbekistan the USA would be closer by the East or the West? I know Uzbekistan airways flies via Kiev and Riga to New York..

I live on the west coast of conyinental USA, Uz is almost exactly opposite on hte globe, therefore US is mostly to the west of UZ.

Mark makes a good point. I wondered why Uzbekistan air doesn’t run a flight from Tashkent via Beijing or Tokyo or Seoul and then on to Seattle (sister city), San Francisco, or Los Angeles?
