So cold…

It’s cold enough for me to re-enact something I never quite understood about Uzbek winter clothing…

How would the outfits below keep one warm?

Really. I have a chopan. It’s nice and pretty warm. And granted, some places in Uzbekistan don’t get snow all that often, but still, that’s what the men in the bazaar in Navoi wore during snow storms.

Meanwhile, on Hoth.

Yeah, man. Honestly I don’t really know the reason of it. But I am sure that we don’t have such a freezing cold in Uzbekistan that I do here in Maine. Last week one day classes were canceled because of snowstorms. I have just come from commons and imagaine walking everyday for 10 in such cold weather.

What do Kyrgyz wear, man? It’s pretty cold up in those mountains even in the summer. I can’t imagine what that kind of winter is like.

I’m going to have tons of fun walking to the train tomorrow. I thought that they hadn’t plowed here just because it’s difficult to. Nope. Apparently little of the city has been plowed and I don’t even think they put out salt. The drivers must be out partying because of the Eagles victory or something.
