Doing Hersh Proud

by Nathan Hamm on 1/25/2005 has a story from Vremya Novostei that alleges that the US and Afghanistan plan to use the IMU to drive Russia out of Central Asia. I say it does Seymour Hersh proud because it makes its case on a foundation of innuendo and conspiracy theories presupposing Russian victimhood and with absolutely no reference to named sources.

Needless to say, this is why I have a hard time reading Russian newspapers as much more than comedy.

They now offer comments at, so feel free to let them know what you think.
