According to KYRGYZINFO, Tajikistan is building up positions along the Kyrgyz border, in the Osh region.

Where did you cross through? I just read Eastward to Tartary (which is mentioned in a post on Craig Murray that’ll pop up 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning) and Kaplan mentions that the border guards in Georgia at the time were Russian and much more professional than many of the other guards in the region.

Don’t remember exactly as it was the middle of the night, between Andijan and Tashkent, somewhere on a train. And yes, the Russian border guards were very friendly and professional, and happy to have an American couple to talk to…
