What Else Could They Do?

You know that part at the end of A Boy Named Sue when you just know Sue is gonna slaughter his father like a hog but then he says,

I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.

Well, for some reason, that’s the first thing I thought of when I read this.

I’m kind of weird.
