Ferghana.Ru editors Daniil Kislov and Andrei Kudriashov reports that despite obstacles, internet websites have replaced newspapers as an information source for the people of Uzbekistan, playing a role similar to shortwave radio during the days of the USSR. As evidence of readership, Kislov says Ferghana.ru receives up to 1,000 emails a day . . .
