I don’t really like seeing the links on the frontpage everyday. It takes away from your excellent commentary, the main thing that distinguishes you head and shoulders above other blogs.

If I want to see the news about Central Asia in link form, I’ll go to google news.

I’m not crazy about this link thing either, though the selection has been consistently spot on.
Though, by the way, that news about increased Turkmen gas prices has been denied:

I suggest just the header: “links for 2006-01-14” (or whatever date). No need to show the first 5 links or whatever. Just put “read more” and people will know what to do if they want to read the links.
