Alex Strick van Linschoten has posted some video of a skirmish between Canadian forces and the Taliban just outside of Kandahar from last night.

Dunno, Josh, when we saw this in K-Har when I was there such a display meant only one thing. We called it “Thursday.”

Man-love Thursday? I don’t get your point—does the regularity of gunfights make them less significant or interesting to see on video?

You’re right, more like “Tuesday.” Thursdays people were busy with other stuff…

My mangled point there was supposed to be that gunfire on the outskirts of Kandahar was at least a weekly and sometimes a daily phenomenon when I was there. So on one side I’m thinking, I just wasted 4 minutes watching something on YouTube I’d watched several times before in real life, and on the other I’m thinking “thanks for the memories!” Cheers.
