Tajik Photo Set

The BBC has a very nice photo series up right now called Tajik Village Life. It’s a quick nine, with the obligatory old person looking wistful and remembering the good ol’ days, but the the photos are nice and the scenery stunning.

I’m sometimes amazed how Iranian they appear.

Some of us Iranians think they look even more Iranian!

it’s not often you see people smiling in photo essays like this… cool.

To be honest I’m more amazed that they’re Tajik. Put them in New York City and no one would even think for a second that they were from anywhere besides America. Heck, my brother-in-law looks more foreign (to a North American) than they do.
