Registan’s contributors have years of experience both contextualizing current events through Registan.net and advising clients on risks and opportunities to their operations in South and Central Asia. We now offer those services directly. Registan provides independent, thorough, and concise research and analytical support. We provide insight into relationships between politics, markets, and society to help clients adjust their strategies and operations to respond to emerging instability and opportunities.

EXPERTISE

Established in 2003 as a weblog, Registan has focused on providing original reporting and analysis on the former Soviet republics of Central Asia in order to add context missing in media and policy discussion of the region. While Central Asia is still a major focus, our team now includes analysts who professionally monitor the Caucasus, Middle East, Russia, and South Asia. Other issues covered by our team include:

Registan’s analysts have extensive experience with their subjects. The majority of our team has lived in the areas they monitor and maintain in-country connections. They have advanced degrees and conduct primary research in two or more languages. We have used this combination of intuition and structured approaches to knowledge gained from our field and academic experience to help clients make more informed use of their resources.

SERVICES

Our analysts have helped clients – ranging from government agencies to corporations to development organizations – to scout paths forward in uncertain environments. We use qualitative and quantitative methods to describe, explain, and anticipate critical social, political, and economic drivers and key emerging trends. We work closely with each client to provide the precise solutions to their needs.
