My title was tongue in cheek of course (well, for those who know me anyway). I think that oil-centric discussions of international politics are hopelessly simplistic and tend to incredibly misjudge the full portfolio of interests at play (esp. with the US–which I think is often the target of projection by European critics).
Hehe, I alleged so.
Well, I am not entirely convinced by the theory put forward by many here either. It has some valid points, but one shouldn’t forget that it’s first and foremost about hard cash, not geopolitics.
Next they’ll be chanting “No democracy for oil!”
