I am stunned by the inventive horror of it all. Central Asia has produced some of the most breathtaking fabrics and garments in the past, wonderfully embellished, and here, I see ... I see ... I see dead things. I see outfits that wouldn't have passed muster at Star Trek conventions thirty years ago. All that brocade, embroidery and fur, and this is the best they could come up with? Thank heavens for Oscar De La Renta, who pays homage to Central Asia and produces clothes that women can actually wear.
