recall that these are the same people who blame the CIA for “organizing riots” in Kiev last winter when some quarter of a million people gathered to protest the rigged elections.

Of course, this may be true, I have no evidence one way or the other, but as much as I love the Russians, they have at least two great faults–
one is their incredible, open racism, and the other is i guess their general distaste for democracy (which is not it itself necessarily a fault) and with it the idea that a government has some responsibility to a) tell the truth and b) behave by the same moral standards that bind the behavoir of normal people.

i’ve always also marvelled at how alike our two countries are in both our strengths and our weaknesses–probably what made us so good at being enemies. i swear we’re not all that different.
