I nearly forgot about it, but August 15th marked the second blogiversary of Registan.net. In that time,
- there have been 2,724 posts (not including this one) of which I have written 2,024 (not including this one).
- there have been 4,304 comments.
- three different blog publishing systems.
- two different names for the site (and some are still using the old one).
- more layouts than I care to think about.
- probably some other interesting things that aren’t coming to me.
Thank you to all who read the site for making it a success. Your comments, suggestions, and tips are greatly appreciated. If you have any ideas for improving the site, are interested in reading, or have anything you’d like to say at all, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Congrats Nathan, cheers to another 2 years of cutting-edge Central Asia weblogging.
I meet ardent readers of The Registan wherever I go, especially here in Kazakhstan.
It is also my first recommendation to young students in terms of a gateway to independent media coverage of their home countries.
Though I’ve only been reading the site for about a year now, it’s already indispensable.
Keep it up,
Ben
Congratulations, Nathan. You’ve produced a great site. I’ve learnt so much reading it and my MA dissertation would have been far weaker without registan.net.
Congratulations, Nathan!
Nathan,
Your ability to piece together a range of correspondence and give an intelligent opinion on the topic is refreshing and invaluable.
There are alot of us living and working here in Central Asia that scan your blog daily to stay abreast of current events in the region.
I cant say I always agree on your spin of things, but you give a well thought out experienced view on the subjects.
Keep up the great work, and congratulations!
Nice job.
Congratulations and looking to more years to come! You continue to do an outstanding job!
