This was about a month ago, but well worth taking about 10 minutes to listen to. If for no other reason, listen to it for the recordings she plays from May 13 in Andijon…
…which, just like her witness testimony, are obviously fake and nothing more than Stalinism.

Anyone notice how IWPR hasn’t been publishing that many articles lately? I wonder if it has anything to do with their reporters being forced to seek asylum.
Galima is a good reporter and a courageous young woman. She’d been forced to leave the country once before, after a dust-up with security forces. Against the advice of many, I suspect, she returned only finally to find herself on the front lines at Andijon. Her reporting is difficult to ignore and carries with it a great deal of credibility.
I did always find something a bit Stalinist about her, however.
I think I heard something that Galima, along with Deutsche Welle and BBC deported several million people to forced labor camps recently. Also, I believe she beat to death her pet parrot with her tobacco pipe because it mocked her.
You need to read the “alternative media” to find the real stories!
She’s just been awarded CPJ’s International Press Freedom Award for 2005. Good for her!
