The Uzbek government has confirmed that it is trying additional Andijon suspects in closed trials in courts outside of the capital. And why are they closed?
The court says that the trials are being conducted behind closed doors for security reasons.
The only defensive reason that comes to my mind have to do with protecting itself from the “information warfare” it thinks it’s the victim of.

Maybe they’re worried about a recurrence of the Makhbuba Zakirova debacle? Or perhaps they’ve realised they’ve sapped any remaining propaganda value out of “trying” suspects.
