Apparently, according to Kommersant, “Gazprom confirmed its proposal to restore the Central Asia-Center pipeline system in exchange for the right to extract natural gas at Uzbekistan’s three largest deposits of Ugra, Kuanysh and a group of Akchalaksky deposits.” … The story at http://www.kommersant.com/page.asp?idr=33&id=642676 says Karimov listened to Gazprom’s amended proposals to tap the country’s largest deposits but refused the offer, declaring that Uzbekistan is able to modernize its gas pipelines on its own.
