Introducing…

by Nathan Hamm on 8/28/2006

Readers may have noticed some new contributors on the site, and I wanted to take a moment to briefly introduce them.

  • Bertrand J. lives in Central Asia and travels the region extensively.
  • Irka has lived in Central Asia and written about the region for various publications.
  • Joshua Foust is the editor of Conjecturer. He is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he majored in International Affairs and Political Science. His interests include international security, counter-terrorism, and counter-proliferation, with a regional focus on Russia and Eurasia (the former Soviet Union).
  • Steve Bodio frequently travels to Central Asia and is the author of numerous books. His most recent book, Eagle Dreams, is about the Kazakh horsemen of Mongolia. His articles, essays, stories, and book reviews have appeared in a wide variety of publications, including The Atlantic, LA Times Magazine, and Gray’s Sporting Journal. He blogs at Stephen Bodio’s Querencia.

I am excited about these new contributors and very much look forward to their contributions to the site.
