Then a whole bunch of noses got put out of joint when the Finns invited Putin, and hey presto, the whole conference was all about Russia and energy security. There is a proper EU summit scheduled for a few weeks hence in Helsinki - possibly by then the other EU nations will have stopped beating up on the Finnish president and told him to get with the programme.
