Upon brewing the morning’s pot of coffee, I took a cleaver to the guts of this blog and hacked out every last bit of Pajamas Media code now that the contract is well and truly over. Emerged from that train wreck, the site looks to me to be loading quite a bit faster. I hope it is for all of you as well.
As you’ll notice though, Registan.net is not ad-free though. It costs a lot of time and a bit of money to run the site, and I am not the least bit opposed to trying to earn a bit of compensation. These ads load faster, are far more appropriately targeted, and do not help make money for a third-rate National Review Online wannabe that squanders the talents of its network and cannot communicate to save its life.
I also made a few other changes here and there, mostly consisting of updates and additions to the pages at the top left of the page. As seems to often be the case, something that looks to be working fine on my end may not be for everyone else. So, if you happen to see anything odd and in need of repair, please do leave a comment.

Great. I always considered you far too good a blogger and smart a person to be mixed up with Pajamas.
Thanks. I was pretty unhappy with them as soon as it became clear that I was not cool enough to be part of their clique. Others who weren’t cool enough (oddly enough, we seem to be those who do not produce a bland reformulation of the mainstream media’s products…) were culled as well.
If only I could share the terms of the contract the offered me… Downright insulting.
