For those who haven’t visited it, LiveLeak has a very different community than does YouTube. One notices that war-related videos are much more prominent at Liveleak, and there are a large number of videos from soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. I check the Afghanistan videos fairly regularly, and among the many that might interest Registan.net readers are excerpts from documentaries on the Soviet War in Afghanistan. Here are some of those I’ve noticed recently.

That arrow scene is one of the greatest scenes of all times, from one of the greatest bad action movies of all time. The hair, the explosion, the self-cauterizing… brilliant.
But why oh why can’t Rambo 4 be set in Afghanistan? Surely kicking Taliban ass is at least as awesome as kicking Soviet ass…
