There is a new self-published book about Ahmed Shah Massoud. I have no idea what’s in it, other than the Edward James Olmos quote on the cover about souls or something.

Really, how could you not want to read this—from the pseudo-Arabic script to the scholar/saint iconography? It is available to download free of charge. Thanks for the tip-off, Mohammad! I’ll see if this lady can bring herself to mention Massoud’s brutal shelling of Hazara civilians during the Battle of Kabul!

Massoud’s past is not controversial. Like any other of his Mujahideen compatriots, Massoud indulged in mass muders, shellings and other war crimes whenever he got the chance to. It was the handover of Kabul to the NA that really gave birth to the legends of MAssoud, Mazari, Abdul Haq and others. On humanitarian grounds they will all be found guilty of serious war crimes. C’mon! these were the people fighting for Kabul and each claiming to be on the defensive and it was during their reign that hundreds of thousands died. Not everyone is blin!d and not everyone has memory of span of a few short years!

An absolutely great insight in the life of a leader whom the free world really owes a lot. He first fought the communism (then enemy of free world) and then sacrificed himself in fighting terrorism, alqaeda and the Taliban who now threatens the free world. Don’t you think we (the free world) owe him a a lot?
